Happy New Year readers!
I am forever on the hunt for new places to brunch. It is by far my favourite meal of the week and I love that for us, it means taking things slow.
Sometimes though, Sunday cannot come fast enough and I find myself itching for brunch by Saturday morning. Luckily, The Jones Family Project understands this and offer a Saturday brunch menu until 5 p.m. This gives you plenty of time to sleep in and have your eggs bennie too. Although they have a lot of breakfast options as soon as I read the words “Truffled Mac and Cheese” I knew nothing else would do. In another life I must have been a French truffle pig because as soon as I see it mentioned on a menu I have to order it.
What arrived on my table however, was nothing like what I was expecting. The dish was so large it could have fed the both of us, but you won’t hear me complaining. The bacon was crispy, just as I like it, and the truffle was evident but it didn’t take over the meal. After Mister C had devoured his full English, he proceeded to get his fork stuck into mine. Together we gave it all we had and almost managed to finish the entire thing. I mean just look at that cheese, that bacon…. (I’m drooling just thinking about it)You can imagine my delight at being given such a
challenge large portion. If you find yourself dreaming about brunch by Friday, then don’t wait two whole days when there’s a truffle mac and cheese waiting for you on Saturday.
At £12 it’s not the cheapest you’ll find in London but it’s by far the most generous, and it’s definitely worth calling in a friend or three for back-up.
