The Jones Family Project

Happy New Year readers!

I am forever on the hunt for new places to brunch. It is by far my favourite meal of the week and I love that for us, it means taking things slow.

Sometimes though, Sunday cannot come fast enough and I find myself itching for brunch by Saturday morning. Luckily, The Jones Family Project understands this and offer a Saturday brunch menu until 5 p.m. This gives you plenty of time to sleep in and have your eggs bennie too. windowshotcoffeeAlthough they have a lot of breakfast options as soon as I read the words “Truffled Mac and Cheese” I knew nothing else would do. In another life I must have been a French truffle pig because as soon as I see it mentioned on a menu I have to order it.

What arrived on my table however, was nothing like what I was expecting. The dish was so large it could have fed the both of us, but you won’t hear me complaining. The bacon was crispy, just as I like it, and the truffle was evident but it didn’t take over the meal. macandcheeseAfter Mister C had devoured his full English, he proceeded to get his fork stuck into mine. Together we gave it all we had and almost managed to finish the entire thing. fullEnglishmacandcheese2 macandcheese3 I mean just look at that cheese, that bacon…. (I’m drooling just thinking about it)meandcheeseYou can imagine my delight at being given such a challenge large portion. interiorIf you find yourself dreaming about brunch by Friday, then don’t wait two whole days when there’s a truffle mac and cheese waiting for you on Saturday.

At £12 it’s not the cheapest you’ll find in London but it’s by far the most generous, and it’s definitely worth calling in a friend or three for back-up.
