William IV is located on a quiet corner off Old Street roundabout and is a true East London hideaway.
On the day we made a reservation Sunday roasts were being reintroduced so we were lucky to get ourselves two seats!
Despite the pub being packed we were given prime real estate opposite a table of 6 extremely handsome men. I always said, “Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu” and let me tell you, everything on that menu was delicious! Zara Knitted Jumper

André Ankle boots When the roasts arrived I couldn’t believe they managed to plate something larger than my black hole stomach. I ordered the pork belly while Emma had the turkey. Both roasts come with Yorkies, veggies and lashings of gravy. One last close-up to really get your tummy tumbling. This roast was so large I had to unbutton my jeans and that is a rare day for a foodie like me. As soon as our plates were cleared, we spread ourselves out on the leather sofas and drunk hot cups of mulled wine.
With London skies getting dark by 4 p.m. this is a truly inviting pub to bunker down in with friends. Emma and I both ordered the same dessert, apple and pear crumble with creme anglaise. Emma being far more ladylike than I by not pouring it into her mouth.
