If there were a beauty pageant for food markets in New York then this would be the clear winner. Not only does this market serve two of my favourite foods- street style Mexican and lobster rolls, there is also an in-house florist who has the most envious work space I’ve seen. The focus of this market is all about fresh and healthy food. Although there is only one stall specialising in each cuisine , you know it’s been chosen because nothing else can top it. I sunk my teeth into another Ed’s lobster roll, if you follow me on Instragram or Twitter you would know this was my second in one week. What can I say? I am a real sucker for buttered lobster meat between two pieces of brioche. Something I love as much as food is interior design. So you can imagine the squeals of delight upon discovering this Midsummer’s Night Dream dining nook. I love mixing the indoors with the outdoors, especially during winter when everything outside is so dreary and grey. On a sunny day this would be the ideal tourist date- lunch at Gansevoort Market followed by a walk along the famous high line.
In fact it was such a brilliant idea that the following Sunday Mister C and I grabbed two lattes to go and did exactly that. It was the perfect way to end the day after a boozy brunch.
