Furry Christmas Eve

I was in Selfridges doing last minute shopping when I stumbled upon this faux fur jacket in the sale rack. While I wholeheartedly believe that this is the season to give, I cannot resist finding something fabulous to help me through the winter months aka the ‘throw anything on as long as I’ll stay warm’ phase.  standingwithgate Naturally I layered the coat with two more under tops before I felt satisfied to brave the outdoors. mestandingupThe jacket is by Miss Selfridge and only cost me £60.00. I consider that a real bargain and it even left me with enough spare change to go wild in Selfridges food court. standingwithgate2For Christmas Eve dinner we went to Curtains Up pub.  mefacingcamera curtainsup christianacrackers veg fishTheir veg was cooked perfectly, which I find the defining measure of a decent gastropub. I preferred my fish to Mister C’s beef. His piece was not only too large, it was also quite dry. On the other hand I found the sea bass fresh and served with a generous three fillets! winemenufishandbveg champagne Can you believe Christmas Eve is the first time I get to celebrate my engagement with the in-laws? They generously gave us a toast and everyone drank to our future. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I cannot believe how lucky I am to have two families who love me unconditionally with no divorce involved.  christmastree diningroom Merry Christmas one and all. I hope you have a fantastic holiday and sending you all my festive love.
